Kara D. Freeman is Vice President of Administration and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a Washington, DC-based higher education association.  With more than 30 years of experience, Freeman is recognized as a leader in the information technology field by the non-profit IT community, receiving several industry awards for her work.

Freeman holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and an M.B.A. from The George Washington University (DC), both in management information systems. She also holds a project management professional credential through the Project Management Institute and a certified association executive (CAE) credential through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

Freeman is an avid college basketball fan and, as a season ticket holder, enjoys attending basketball games of the Georgetown University’s men’s basketball team in her spare time.

She is a native of Washington, DC and currently resides in Davidsonville, MD.
